I'm currently in Canada with the IEC Working holidays program, so have an open work permit until June 2014. Here with my wife who is a Canadian Citizen and about to fill out my spousal sponsorship application.

Bearing in mind I'm here with that program on an open permit (so no LMO etc) what is the correct form to fill out for an open work permit until I get my PR?

Have found this application package: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/work.asp# but it says "made outside Canada".

Have also found the extension one: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/extend-worker.asp but not sure what category I'd fall into as the IEc is supposed to be non extendable and I'm basically just applying for a new open one until I get my PR.

I'm a bit confused here guys, could you point me in the right direction? :-\

Yes, I would like to know this too.

You are definitely on the right track, your IEC permit is not extendable so in fact, you ARE applying for a brand new OWP (open work permit). You may already know this but you can ONLY include an application for an OWP, along with an INLAND application for PR (applying from inside Canada), and not with an "outland" application. Hope that's enough to help.

Have booked an appointment for upfront medicals on November 12th so only this and the Criminal Record check that I'm waiting to get by the consulate in Vancouver left and I'm ready to submit it :D
