Hi All,

I have submitted my PR application and accodring to canada post it was delivered on Oct - 27th to Buffalo office. But I am not able to check my status online when i give my UCI and other credentials. neither have I received file number yet. We checked if the draft was cleared from bank last week and found that it was still not withdrawn. So any idea why this delay might be?

Shouldn't I be atleast able to check the status online by now? Is there anything I can do???

Thanks

Nadig, It's a patience game. Give it another couple of weeks and see if you get any response. I, myself got AOR after 2 months. But yes your curiosty might be right as people are AOR faster these days. but your Draft hasn't been cashed out so there could be a number of different factors. If it was me I would give it until 1st or 2nd week of january and start thinking that there is comething wrong. Even then you shouldn't be worried. It differs with applicants. Some recieve response earlier than others.

But just hang on and it will be there soon. Good luck!

Thanks umairz for your response... I think I will have to be patient for few more weeks :)

My application was delivered to Buffalo on September 30. I sent an email last week to see if I have a file number yet, and they replied with this:

The creation of permanent resident applications in our database along with the mailing of the acknowledgement of receipt letter is taking a minium of 30 weeks.

Any application submitted without the required documents and information will be returned to the applicant.

I submitted my documents on Oct 17,2011. Since mid Nov I was able to check my status online and it says "application received".
I have not received file number or medical from Buffalo yet.

Mari, what info are you using to access ecas? Because I can't do anyhing without a file number.

Nadig, if your friend received file number already, the reply I got from Buffalo was buffalo crap!

Hey guys,

So, you guys really don't need to worry about anything(unless you really think you screwed up something in submitting your application). It took me between 2-2.5 months to recieve AOR. And do you guys know why is it taking long. Here is the reason. Because the you guys submitted files to Buffalo like all of us and that office is a little slower. So, expect your AOR in less than or max three months time. But the good news is that once the file is created and you will recieve yoru AOR most of you will recieve an e-mail stating the fiel transfer to Ottawa and then watch 2 months max if you provide all the requested documents on time and you guys will have your Pasport request. Same thing happened with me. And someone above mentioned that they sent an e-mailt o Buffalo about how long it will tkae for AOR and i did the same too and recieved the same response " can take upto 30 weeks". But that's just because they don't wanna take any liablity if it will not be created in 3 months and you guys should also notice that this is christmas time and offices will bea bit slower than regular speed. So just eb patient!

Good Luck! :)

I waited roughly 4 months to receive mine AoR so expect good news in 3-4 month as what majority people get, hence by end of February, even in March.

I sent my application back in June (received via courier in Buffalo June 20th) and have yet to get AOR. It can take a really long time sometimes - it is frustrating (and half the time I feel like they have lost my application) but there are people who have waited up to 7-9 months for AOR and then had a smooth process once their file was worked on. Just take a deep breathe and know it will all come in due time.

I am awfully worried but if it's any solace to you, my e-cas updated once saying they received my application on may 1st 2011. Since then, I have not heard ANYTHING whatsoever.

If anyone has any opinions, suggestions etc please post.

ssamad:

I talked to my lawyer yesterday (get super worried and paranoid cuz it's taking so long!) and he stated that while CEC used to be a quick process for most, he is seeing more and more that it is taking the entire 15 months to get most applications processed. He also stated that as long as he has been doing this he has never known the visa office to lose an application, if that is any relief to you. We just gotta hang tight. I'm glad there is this forum to network with other people who are going through the same thing, for sure.

@cec2011: thanks for your reply. Id like to believe that. But when I see in the forum that some people get their Medicals in just a few months, I marvel at the terrible inconsistencies of Cic. You can't discover a trend in their work since there IS none ! In the mean time, some of us are at our wits' ends!

By the way, has anyone ever applied for a visitors record? For people who do not wish to leave after their Pgwp expires, it's a great way to stay back but without work.
