Not eligible for Express Entry :(

Hi all,

Need your expertise in the below.

I have applied for express entry program with the below details

Primary occupation code 2283
Total experience 9 years

IELTS score
Listening – 7.0
Reading – 7.5
Writing – 6.0
Speaking – 7.5

The above score translates to CBL – 7

I have done my Masters and also provided an ECA for the same which equates to Canadian master's degree. I am applying with my spouse. My spouse does not have her IELTS, nor an ECA for her education. Don't know if this matters?

After submitting my profile I have immediately received a message in my CIC account saying I am not eligible for express entry, in fact I started my application going via the eligibility tool.

The reasons stated were as below.

• not having a valid language test
• language test results that are more than two years old
• a language test score that is too low
• not having enough relevant work experience
• not having the required education level
• not having enough funds

Would appreciate if someone can guide me.

Note: I submitted my application on Apr 11th around 14:00 hours GMT, but immediately received an reply dated April 12th in my CIC account saying I am not eligible.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
Have you split your Indian and canadian exp in two parts though it is one company. I think this could be one of the possible reason. But not sure.

Are you able to update your profile ?

Is your IELTS still valid ?
Thanks for the reply.

Yes my IELTS is still valid and one point I would like to share is I am applying with my spouse. My spouse does not have her IELTS, nor an ECA for her education.

It looks like your funds that you intend to bring to Canada may not be sufficient.

Refer to this:
Thanks for the reply.

I have put in enough amount for the funds required, one point I would like to share is I am applying with my spouse. My spouse does not have her IELTS, nor an ECA for her education.

Provided information is not enough to calculate your eligibility points.. You need to have atleast 67 Eligibility points in 6 selection factors.. Please calculate your eligibility points from following link..

hi,
you did not mention your age.

you should get your spouse eca and ielts so probably you will be eligible. my husband can not be legible without my ielts even if he has master, 10 years experience, and clb 7. and then need my eca to increase the score.

I am 32 and I am pretty sure with my masters and experience and age criteria, I should get the eligible points.

28 points for my IELTS
25 points for Education
15 for Experience
12 for age

That makes it to 80 points, please correct me if I am wrong?

But

I faced the same problem...please note that you need at least 12 months of experience in the NOC you mentioned as primary occupation. Only experience in primary occupation gets counted. Also, check all the details.

You have wrong calculation for your points

Your master will give you 23, and your IELTS is 20. The maximum is 24.

He said CLB 7, which is 16.
Thus, overall score is 66.

You should make your spouse take IELTS or retake it yourself.

28 points for my IELTS L4+R6+W4+S6= 20
25 points for Education = Master's 23
15 for Experience =15
12 for age = 12

That makes it to 80 points, please correct me if I am wrong? 70 Points > 67 Point, Should be eligible
BTW, did you provide your ECA and IELTS results reference/Certificate Number while you created your profile?
