has anyone able to figure out what this NOT APPLICABLE background status even means? I remember few years ago it used to be, "the next step is to conduct a background check" or "we are processing your background check" but this not applicable status is so vague? Anyone can point me in the direction of understanding it?

Do you mean in mycic? Seems that others found it to say that before it goes into progress. Says the same thing for medical prior to it being requested.

yes on gc key.. many people including myself have this background status? (do you?) It was application is in progress. we will tell you when we start your background check (initially) and then since July end it has been NOT APPLICABLE - I am wondering what NA even stands for? They are so not transparent with their work.

I never bothered with gckey. ECAS is more accurate and no need to cause myself more anxiety by checking an unreliable tool :) we're all done the process.

omg congrats! which month applicant are you, what visa office? tell me more!
Lol- Mine is NDVO- and they are slaccccccccccccccking.. :(

March 1, LVO. It's all about patience, unfortunately.

yes- if there was a pattern to what they were doing, I could wait a lifetime lol- JAN-MARCH applicants (most on this forum) got DM within 5-7 months of applying, April applicants have been with BCG processing for more than 3 months with no DM (JAN-MARCH got DM within 2 days of BCG processing) and we are MAY applications :( sorry I am letting it out to you like this but my visa office is literally slacking with absolutely no pattern to what they are doing.
How long did it take for you?

It wasn't that fast for us. We didn't get DM until very late November or right at the beginning of December. For almost 7 months we had heard nothing. All in all including landing and receiving the PR card the process will take us 12months. It feels like nothing once it's all said and done, but I know that's easier to say now that I'm on the other side.
