We'll be traveling from Ontario into the US with a cat in its carrier, problem is it's in a truck and there wont be a place to buckle it in. I was wondering if its the law that you have to have them buckled in or would the cat carrier on your lap be okay too. I'm wondering if the people at the border would have a problem with this. any help is appreciated. I can't find anything online about this.

If you can't find the law (I couldn't either), it probably doesn't exist. The only laws I could find were about leaving pets in hot cars, and rabies vaccines.

I live in the usa went to canada to visit my son and took his cat back with me, wife was allergic. The cat was in a carrier on the back seat of car...nobody questioned it. But I did have rabie certificate with me just in case.
