Hi guys, id like to know what is the odd for an officer to check the background/ profile of a non acompanying parent? This is the story: I have been required to have a consent from my ex who happens to be my baby¨dad in order to get my baby´s visa. However the officer isnt too focused about him, coz my son doesnt have his last name and i told the officer his dad is not in our lives, and my husband is his dad coz he always been around him, always been there for him etc. I dont know that much about my son´s dad concerning his past. Can his past actions, affect the application? coz we are reaching the final step... his consent was one of the missing parts. Thanks guys...

It shouldn't make any difference. The child won't be able to sponsor his dad until he is 18 (I think), and maybe never, the way things are going. If the father is a criminal or whatever, well, he is not coming to Canada so it should not affect your son's ability to immigrate.

ok thank u so much :)
