I have a question... Im planning to apply and move to Canada for residency. Im married and I have 2 kids. but me and my husband are separated, though not legally. I want to bring my kids to Canada but my husband won't be coming. will that be an issue? I was told that I cannot apply for a family visa without my husband, and that It will not be granted.

What documents do I need to provide for my kids?

Id Really appreciate some help. Its really quite confusing.
Thank you

If you are not legally divorced you will have to get your husband to do the medical and pcc. Given that you aren't divorced you won't need to show proof that you have custody of your children but to travel with your children without their father many countries and airlines require a document stating that the father gives you permission to leave the country with the children. This is to try to prevent cases of parental abduction.

I see. do I need to acquire any form if my husband won't be coming with us? its fine that he will still do the medical and pcc. but it won't affect my application?

Thank you for your reply.=)

I would recommend getting a custody agreement or some legal agreement giving you permission to travel and live abroad with your children.

If he doesn't have a medical problem or criminal background he shouldn't have any effect on your application.
