I will be going through the same thing, as I have a unaccompanied child in my PR application too. Just a question that who so ever have gone through this, what exactly was the Self Declaration Document kind look like. If anyone have done this can they share the context of the document. Thanks

Well I was reading the thread, and found that I might have to provide one Self Declaration. Wasn't sure what context needs to be in there.

I found one reference to a self-declaration in this thread, and nothing else on the internet. (It's gibberish BTW, because a statutory declaration can only be made by the author/signatory - so 'self' means nothing.)

Anyway: a statutory declaration is basically a type of affidavit - a statement you make in writing. But if you don't know what it is supposed to contain, doesn't mean much. ('Statutory' may or may not mean it should be witnessed by someone. Instructions matter)

Presumably here it says something like "I swear I have no contact with or power over that kid whose other parent has custody and I hereby recognise that I am forswearing all rights to sponsor that kid in future."

[signed, self]

But unless you find out from IRCC what they want it to contain, won't do much good to make one.

No they have not. They have not requested anything of me related to the NAD, since our intial explanation letter and proofs in Feb 2024
Hello.
Hope you are well.
I am in the same situation, the IRCC is asking for medical for a non-accompanying dependent child. Can you tell me what your outcome is after submitting the declaration? Please tell me what you did and did you get approval?
Thanks

Sent the proof(texts, explanation letter) that we could not complete the medical in Feb2024
Received Prearrival July 19. GCMS notes mentioned they are looking exemption for NAD medical under policy R117(9)(d). IRCC sent us this email in sept 2024

“In order for us to continue processing your application for Permanent Resident, please complete the attached R117(9)(d) form for your non-accompanying dependent. As he is not complying with all the immigration requirements including the completion of medical examination, the duly signed/completed form will allow you to proceed with your application for Permanent Residence alone. With this form, you are also consenting that you can no longer sponsor in the future your dependent**** as a member of the family class.

The duly completed/signed form must be received at this office by: 23 October 2024.”

Once completed, PR was finalized on October 02,2024, without the dependent.

I hope this helps!

You need to attach proof of every step you have taken to try to get dependent to do the medical. I’d quite surprised texts were enough in this case. We have seen IRCC go as far as requiring proof of email, phone/text, registered letter with signature, etc. as proof that all steps have been made to get the dependent to do the medical.

Hi,this is a follow up with my application in year 2024…On October 23,2024 after 10months submitting the ADR for my non-accompanying children(step-children) I received PFL…I seek professional advise as this is my last chance. These are the ff documents we attached:
1) Cover letter-consultant
2)Memorandum outlining to grant me H&C
3)Separate notarized affidavits(husband &wife)
4) IRCC form(sent bt them with PFL) in respond that we are unable to sponsor the children in future..

We are waiting for the outcome…To those who are having same case as ours, provide much evidence as you can(emails/ask your fam members to email the ex-spouse/adult children/friends).I don’t know if there’s the same case as ours that non-accompanying children are adults. If there is please comment on this thread.thank you

How old are the children? Over 18?

Is there any chance that those children will sign a letter of some sort themselves simply saying they do not wish to submit and understnad this means they can never be sponsored?

Anyway - responded also in other thread. I think you're doing everything you can. No idea how long it will take, but if all truthful, should proceed eventually.

When we applied one is 19&21 in 2024 but they already turned 20&22 y.o now…They don’t want and we tried to explain to them that maybe in future they want to come and live here in Canada. They replied that” there’s no point of coming here in Canada. Also indicated in the message that to do not use any of their personal information”….Those are the screenshots evidence that we notarized…They are really uncooperative and my heart breaks when they are involved into something that was the wrong doing of the parents.

We were transparent from our student/pgwp/PR applications that we declared them as non-accompanying dependents..

Sorry to hear that. I haven't delved into all the details but it sounds to me like you've done what you could.

Note that the one that is 22 can't be sponsored in future anyway (aged out) but remains in this app only because was 21 when you filed.
