Hi everyone!
I graduated from college as computer programmer diploma and have been working in the restaurant as a cooker for almost 1 year. The owner agreed to make a job offer for me to apply PR as NOC 6322 as apprentice cook. My question is: I have been working full time for 1 year with the minimum wage and this does not relate to my field. Besides, the employment requirements need:
- Trade certification is available, but voluntary, inall provinces and territories.
- Red Seal endorsement is also available to qualified cooks upon successful completion of the interprovincial Red Seal examination.

what do i do to claim these requirements? are they really important to be able to apply PR? Will it help if I can get a higher wage in the job offer?

Any replies would help me a lot!
Thanks everyone!

Hey, i am too NOC 6322 applicant..I have 2 yr diploma in Tourism Management, i worked as a First Cook for a year, i also have 3.5 yr cooking experience on cruise ship. In my case, education and job is related.

I don't know how to advice you exactly, but for me it seems like okay! In my opinion, Anyone can start their Cooking career as an Apprentice Cook for awhile, and then, depends on your education and/or experience grade will go higher level. I also don't have any certificates according to employment requirement beside BC Food safe level 1 8)

what type of concern do you work for? what is your duties and responsibilities? I think that would matter lot, because Camp cook, hospital cook, diet cooks must have those certification.

I hope it'll help you some!
Thanks AruninBC...i'm an Asian and working in the asian restaurant, and my boss can give me all duties as same as in the NOC list. my worries are just about my wage, difirent field and employment requirements. Do you think I am able to apply for PR?
thanks

Have you checked that this noc code is eligible for CEC?

I thought all Noc code from NOC list is eligible for CEC. How do you check it eligible or not?

I applied under 6322 short order cook last week and it's eligible. I did my studies in computer networking and working in Popeye restaurant from 1.5 year therefore I applied last week through one of the most famous lawyer.
Secondly no cook certification is required just one year experience with 30 hrs per week .so I think you are ok to apply

CIC only goes by the lead statement and job duties/responsibilities. The "requirements" identified for an NOC are not used, you do not need them (unless you work in a regulated occupation like physicians and nurses).
