Hello Members,

like most of the people, im having trouble deciding my NOC code. i do things that are a part of many codes. i understand from most forums however that i should choose the one where i do the most of my work etc.

I had posted this question a week ago and one of the member was kind enough to guide me to a coompany which evaluated the JD and suggested an NOC. they charged $30 for it which is think is acceptable.

i seem to have lost the link though. Does anyone else know of this? i think the name started with V

Write to NC-NOC-CNP-GD@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca with your detailed JD and resume and yes they don't charge you.

Hi There,

thanks for your reply. I did send them an email and they were not able to do much for me. this is why i was planning to get help from professionals. i know CIC wont recognize what private professionals will say but atleast i will be able to get a accurate idea about what to use in my EE profile.

Hey Dee30,

how did you find their service? also, i hope you know docveri is a private company and so cic or any other government council will not take their word. Its more for your reference so you dont confuse yourself. This is a big problem for IT professionals (finding their codes).

Thanks for recommending... they were very helpful. i was very confused to go with 2171 or 2173 . they suggested i go with 2171 after i sent my cv and reference letters . yes i know they are a private party. you are right its more like our reference but gives a peace of mind

They replied within 24 hours and were pretty helpful. They suggested two NOCs (one of them was the one I initially suspected) basically they confirmed what I was thinking.

Unfortunately for me they only say they were unable to propose any NOC code. i gave them as much information i could. Anyways, if they have suggested a code for you, its good. CIC does accept their reply as a official confirmation i guess. And you also save $30 :)
