Hi,

Guys please help me find my NOC code. I came to Canada in 2009 as a student and I completed my 1 year (2 semester) Post Graduate Certificate program in 2010. Soon after my graduation I started working as an International Student Assistant at the college's in May 2010 and as a Research Assistant since October 2010 to August 2011. My job duties under both the positions were the same. I need to know what is my NOC Code and also if both the job titles fall under the same NOC code as the duties were the same. My duties under both the positions were as follows:

Analyze and collect data for report generation
Summarize project results
Process letters for the students on behalf of the college
Assist International Student Advisor’s Team
Add support to on Campus Services
Perform administrative tasks as required

I am planning to apply for CEC under the new rules applicable in Jan 2013.

Thank You for reading.....

under NOC 4012, it clear states:

Employment requirements
Enrolment in a university or college program is required.

I had similar situation as you.
I was informed by CIC that the title of the job is determined by you duty rather than the original title.
Base on your duty, yours do not match to the research assistant duties.

Duty determines the title, not the other way.
