express entry in Canada, with my application submitted and AOR 4 Feb, I submitted the
following job codes

4164: Social Policy Researcher for 2 of my jobs.

4168: Program officers unique to government.

Due to the nature of these roles I am concerned as to whether they
accurately fit into these NOC Codes or not. These were specialised
roles but don't really fit perfectly into any NOC code, and I am very
concerned as I don't want my application to be refused based on this.
I am happy to provide my JDF's and employment letters etc. to someone if
this will assist but don't want to place these on the forum

Many thanks for your help.

While selecting the NOC, the duties and responsibilities mentioned in the NOC should be a close match with the actual duties and responsibilities carried out by you at the respective job. You need not match the duties and responsibilities word by word, but the idea is to have the closest match in terms of the spirit of the duties and responsibilities (at least 60%-70% match).

Also, NOC should be selected on the basis of the match of actual duties and responsibilities carried out by you rather than the designation match in the NOC list. If you are not sure of your NOC, write to noc@workingincanada.gc.ca with your job title, duties and responsibilities and educational qualification, they will help you find the closest fit.

While submitting your application to CIC, you can attach the email that you receive from NOC Team.

Hi

I already submitted my application before I went back and realised this, I have looked through all the NOC'S and none fit perfectly (this is mainly for a secondary job) however not the one I am claiming as my primary NOC.

What would be the best way to proceed, to email them and gain advice, then lodge a case specific enquiry with CIC, just having a bit of a panic I will get a rejection due to this.

Cheers Chris

Hi Chris,

What NOC did you finally go with? I also have a very specialised JD and trying to determine if it falls in 4168.
