As we all know, occupation of a “plumber” comprise in installation, maintaining and repairing pipelines, fixtures and several other equipments of plumbing that are utilized to distribute water in industrial, commercial or residential buildings. Plumbers can either be self-employed or employed in plants, factories, plumbing contractors and other similar establishments as a part of their maintenance departments.

Primary duties that you are expected to perform as a plumber are:

•Reading drawings, specifications and blueprints to decide layout of the plumbing system, drainage and wastage systems and water supply network

•Joining pipes by using screws, cement, welding equipment, brazing, clamps and couplings
•Testing pipes for any leakage with the use if water and air pressure gauges
•May have to prepare estimation of costs
Maintenance plumber, plumber apprentice, plumber and v are some of the job titles that easily qualify under the NOC List's occupation “plumbers.”

•Secondary school completion is normally required
•Completion of the apprenticeship program of 4-5 years is normally required, Or work experience of at least 5 years in trade combined with any high school, industry or college courses in plumbing is normally required to become eligible for the trade certification
•Trade certification is mandatory in Quebec, Nova Scotia, Alberta, Prince Edward Island, British Columbia, New Brunswick and Ontario but it is voluntary in Labroador, Nunavut, Yukon, Newfoundland and Northwest territories
•It would be great for qualified plumbers to get the Red Seal or Interprovincial trade certification

Interprovincial trade certification (Red Seal) is available to qualified plumbers.
