NOC 2281 for FSWP in 2014, Let's network here

Dear All,

I have a question. I did provide a reference letter from my employer with my jobs and job duties.

i worked for 6 years with a mix of 2282 and 2281 but i stated it as 2282 then one and half year as only 2281 NOC

is that a problem? I think it is the normal transition for 2282 to work on 2281 after promotion.

what do you think

That is fine as long as your Primary NOC is 2281 and you have provided LOR for 1 continuous year or more in lieu of the experience.

You can further claim points for 2282 along with 2281.

I've applied under NOC 2281, my application was sent on 17th Nov, 2014 and received on 21st Nov, 2014.

I've provided reference letters from all my employers with my job duration and job duties as per stated for NOC 2281, along with appointment letters and in some cases 3 recent monthly pay slips.

Following are my Job titles and duration:
1. Web Designer/Technician (8 months in my country of residence)
2. Web Designer/Administrator (1 year 6 months in Canada)
3. Web Designer/Administrator (1 year in my country of residence)
(*job duties include both as a Web Designer[3-4 points] and Web Technician/Administrator[10-13 points]*)

Education:
1. Bachelors of Computer Information Systems from Canada (2 year program)
2. Bachelors of Science (IT)(In my country of residence) {WES scored it as a 3 year degree}

IELTS: 8 - Speaking | 7.5 - Reading, Writing, Listening

Do you think that including 2 kinds of Job duties would be a problem? What do you guys think of my chances of getting a positive reply. Thanks!

As long as the reference letter, joining docs or any other supporting documentation show that you have over an year of relevant experience, explicitly stating the job roles, you should be good. Cheers!

If you present CIC with 1 comprehensive letter for multiple roles, make sure you then segment it based on your designations held and the corresponding duties so that it is easier for CIC to seggeragte the number of years you have worked under each position.

This is further important in your case as 2282 is not eligible for FSW 2014 (you can claim points for it though) and therefore you need to show 1 continuous year in 2281 OR you may choose to show the whole duration of your tenure under 2281 if your duties match.

First up - your education is irrelevant as far as calculating points for your work experience goes.

Secondly - your designation is irrelevant any which ways since it is not given weight-age while determining your duration of work experience.

Lastly - if your job duties match 2281 for 1 of your past experiences which is of a duration of 1 continuous year or more then you are eligible to apply.

Any other roles or work experiences that you present CIC with can be used for points if it matches any skills within the 50 eligible NOCs or Skill Type 0/A/B listed in the HRSDC site.

i showed the two job positions separately

from 2006 to 2013 with title and job duties (2282)
then 2013 to 2014 with title and job duties (2281)

but all in one page as i was promoted one and half year ago to work in the infrastructure team

guys I need advice,

just got my app returned.. NOC 2281 -- 5th Sept
I tried to attach a copy of the rejection letter here .. but am unable to...
it basically says that I haven't provided sufficient evidence of more than one years work experience...

I had 1 yr 4 mths expereince in a back office, 2 yes 11 mths experience in banking, 2 yrs 8 months experience in IT previously
and am currently freelancing
I had showed copies of letters from my organizations for the previous jobs, but since the orgzn didn't provide me with a list of duties done, I took a letter from the ex- MD of the company and sent that along...
along with copies of payslips, appointment letters, relieving letters, etc

I can't figure out what else they wanted...what else should I add??

Should I resend my application or will it be too late now??

Or should I try sending under another NOC?

Nishesh thanks for the clear and precise explanation. My job duties match 2281 for more than 1 of my past experiences over a year of continuous full time employment.
