NOC 2234 Construction Estimator

Hi friends,

Hardik here from UAE, i have received PER on 2nd of March and now looking forward to receive MR soon. I started a new thread yesterday hoping to network with QSs who are going to relocate to canada, thank you xavier for preventing duplication of the page for same NOC, i am not so conversant but will try to prepare a google sheet, wherein we can input our professional and contact details and status of our application, this will help us stay connected even if the some members go inactive from the forum and can be reached using their contact details.

I ll also send pm to invite all NOC 2234 applicants, i could find out from the spreadsheet on forum, i think we are less than 30.

i keep surfing jobbank website and find good number of open jobs, some of them requires candidates to have a professional membership of CIQS. Anyone of you are already holding RICS, CIQS or any other membership? I require some guideline and information before registering myself with CIQS, planning to register soon. I have created a whatsapp group for NOC 2234 yesterday, and we are just members there, interested ones, message me on +971 556415189, it would be easier to stay in touch using whatsapp.

Thanks for sharing that info. Although my wait has not been as log as yours I understand the frustrations of having a dream so close but yet so far. You've been patient this long and before you know it you'll be packing your bags.

I'm not close to the Calgary local economy but will read up on it. Canada is a flourishing country and Construction is at the top of that so I think we are more than safe.

I've already started building a network on LinkedIn so that when I do get there I have a little bit of a head start. That might be something you guys would want to do.

As always your network is your strength and very important.

Iam not a construction estimator but works with one at every point regarding building construction projects.
I am a home building and renovation manager(0712).i got an invite to join this prestigeous group.

may i start by letting you guys know that edmonton in Aberta is one place to consider as far as construction estimator is concerned.we ve done series of findings and truely alberta looks promising despite the oil crisis.

Thanks sir, for the heads up.. How about Calgary.. Does it have a similar prospect with Edmonton? Ofcourse, the best destination to land and settle in initially is where the jobs are flowing. Coz Edmonton is too cold as compared to Calgary they say..heheh

Do you plan to settle there yourself eventually?

Thanks for that info and thanks for spreading the word. The more the merrier to ensure we communicate good and bad experiences. Starting a spreadsheet would be a good idea so if everyone can populate their timelines to aid this that would be very helpful.

I have started looking for work using LinkedIn and local Job searches however my applications have not been successful purely because i do not have a work permit.

In terms of chartership I am not sure if this is an absolute requirement however it is definitely beneficial, and I am looking into RICS as that is what is pushed in the UK.

I will also join the whatsap group shortly but my main focus will be this forum.

PS I recieved PER at the same time as you so lets see how each VO performs - I know LVO is slow!

Any updates regarding the 2234 NOC applicants?

I have not moved forwards since my application reached LVO.
