Hello,

I graduated in a 4 years program at York with Marketing and Business Management.

For the last 2 years I have been working at a small sized company with about 5 employees (newly starting)
as a Marketing Manager. I do everything in the NOC description and even more as it is a smaller company
I do lots of e-business marketing as well such as creating websites and doing business online as well.

However i just read in the NOC description that I need several years of experiences.

A university degree or college diploma in business administration or in a related field with a specialization in sales or marketing
and
Several years of experience as a sales or marketing representative or in a related occupation are required.

I did internship and work before as a marketing and sales person but can't really say I have SEVERAL years of experiences..
also when I applied for jobs at bigger companies as a marketing personnel, they wanted 5~7years marketing experience which is
impossible for us newly graduates...

Now I am worried and scared that I won't be able to get PR as I don't have several years of experiences.
I can fit into all the other descriptions and even university diploma except that.

Also since it is a new company I started out with $12 and now close to $15~16
but since I only had 1 T4 last year, how can I even prove i had a raise..

Lastly, I am left with about 14months of visa as it's until dec 2013. It is estimated to be 14months for CEC applicaiton right now.
is it okay for me to apply around december this year? because then I will be over my VISA period here in Canada... Confused

Overall
1) I don't qualify for SEVERAL YEARS OF MARKETING EXPERIENCES for 0611, is that okay?
2) My Salary is not high, only have 1 T4 from last year and it was $12 now raised to $15~16
3) My work permit ends dec 2013, is it okay for me to apply in dec 2012 or should I hurry and apply now?
4) Will any other NOC fit me? I am handling all marketing to e-business at my work.

Please help me.
Thank you

What is the designation on your Work Permit?

designation?

I have a open work permit because I graduated university here in canada and got 3 years work permit.
i got it until dec 31 2013

1. If you have the required work experience to apply under CEC, that is the experience I would pay attention to.
2. A recent employment letter should indicate your new salary, as well as a recent paystub. Include a letter explaining that you will submit the 2012 T4 and NOA when you receive it
3. Apply when you have at least met the minimum skilled work experience for CEC graduate stream
4. only you would know this based on your main duties. You can send an email with your main duties and responsibilities to service canada and ask them to confirm your NOC.

Any particular reason you are using the code from the NOC 2006 list instead of the 2011 list? Under the NOC 2011 list, look at:

NOC 0124: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/ProfileQuickSearch.aspx?val=0&val1=0124&val65=*
NOC 1123: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/ProfileQuickSearch.aspx?val=1&val1=1123&val65=*
NOC 4163: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/ProfileQuickSearch.aspx?val=4&val1=4163&val65=*

Please note that these are NOC codes that have "marketing" in them, so please check them and determine yourself whether anyone best describes the work you do.

When they say, SEVERAL YEARS, how many years is several years? like 4~5?

I don't know. You only have 2 years experience, that's all you can use.

So that is my question,
if I have only 2 years, should I even consider this NOC or try finding something else that suits my experience.
I dont want to apply under NOC 0611 and get rejected because I dont have SEVERAL YEARS of experiences.

You have to use a NOC that best describes your job - I can't decide for you. Sorry

In considering the correct NOC for immigration purposes, VOs go by the duties/responsibilities, not experience or education requirements. (One exception might be for a regulated occupation, e.g. doctor or nurse).

So you don't have to worry about the "several years of experience" bit of the NOC.

I went and talked with a immigration lawyer,
he says, with CEC salary is also very important.

I have to meet minimum salary for my NOC for them to agree that
I did full time work as "Marketing Manager" however, I have only been
paid 12~14 in the first year and 16~19 in the second year, whereas
marketing manager's minimum is 19.40 or something like that in Ontario.

He says this could be an issue,
however reading through this forum, many say that Salary is not a criteria,,
I am confused,,,

I paid lots to see this lawyer and now he tells me salary is a problem which
I did not even think as a problem,, help me ;(

That is a big problem when a fresh graduates use NOC 0 level job because usually NOC 0 level position requires several years work experience. CEC applicant will be in high risk to be rejected by immigration officer. better to change to NOC A or B level... :o

As well, a Level 0 "management" job implies you are managing other people. If that is not the case, it's probably the wrong NOC...
