I am planning to apply for CEC and have completed the 12 months of criteria.

My problem is that I have not yet received any NOA or any tax document from CRA. Can I go ahead with the application submission or I will have to wait for any communication from CRA ?

Please help......

Hope you have already filed returns.

Get online login activated and get the NOA online. This along with T4 is preferred document by CIC.

So recommend you to get the NOA

Go ahead and submit as you can add these things later once you get AOR.

I applied with no T4 for 2014 and No NOAs. I sent a cover letter explaining this, and a copy of my most recent paystub, and they were fine with this. I sent all my T4s from previous years, and they ended up not even requesting my NOA's, as my case was so clear cut.

So the short answer is that you should totally go ahead and apply, but make sure you send a cover letter explaining the missing documents. Then you will have about 6 months before they will probably request that you send them, as it takes them that long to start processing your application. So you will have time to get them in order :)

Don't listen to the scaremongers who tell you you need them with your application, as immigration is fully aware that you will not be able to produce a T4 for 2014 before the year is even done.

Just make sure that you do have them ready to send once you get them :)

Thanks Winter27996

But how about 2013. I don't have that yet and still waiting .

Should I go ahead with T4 and pay stubs for 2013.. and a covering letter ?

Check "Check List" Form. It is clear that you have to sand:

- copies of your T4 tax information slips and NOA

OR

- sufficient combination of other documents, which could include copies of a record or letter of employment, work contracts and pay stabs

If you don't have them, just explain why, and say you will send them when required. And the check list says 'Highly Recommended', not mandatory. Don't worry, JUST EXPLAIN IT AND SEND IT WHEN THEY ASK.

I don't know where you see 'Highly Recommended', it is more" CIC recomended"

I started my job at the end of October 2013 so my NOA is only for the period of 2 months. I called Immigration and ask about sanding a copy for 2014 year after, and the answer was NO. However, they can ask for it later when processing my application.

If you have the T4 for 2013, you don't need the pay stubs... Send a written explanation you don't have the NOA yet, and will forward that when you receive it. A recent paystub for 2014 wouldn't hurt (hopefully it shows the cumulative year-to-date information).

I am saying that the T4 is highly reccomended. Not that it is mandatory. You can apply without your T4 and NOA, as long as you provide supporting documents, and then send it when requested (or if requested, it was not requested in my case)

I am giving them the best advice I can, based on having been in their exact situation. I get frustrated when people try and scare applicants by saying 'you MUST do this, or you will be rejected', as I had a lot of people try and say things like that to me, without having the background knowledge or experience to back it up. And all it caused was undue stress.

PRCanadaPR, you say you do not have either of your T4's? If you cannot get your 2013 T4 in time, i would send your last paystub for that year, and then send your most recent paystub for THIS year as well. Immigration does not expect you to have a 2014 T4 yet, as the year has not ended, and they will not be issued until January at the earliest. So I would simply explain the situation in a cover letter, and then try and get your 2013 T4 as soon as you can, so that you have it to send when they request it.

Do you mind if I ask why you do not have it yet?

I have all my Pay stubs and T4 for 2013 but NOA still not received. But for 2014 I dont have T4 just Pay stubs.

My 1 year was completed in Sep 2014 for the CIC eligibility.

Thanks

Oh well then that's fine! Go ahead and send your T4 for 2013 and your most recent paystub for 2014, and explain in the cover letter that you don't have your NOA. Then go and file your taxes ASAP so that you do have it when they request it (It won't be for months though, so you have time)
