No update on my application Need Help

HI All,

I am sponsoring my wife and sent her application on Sep 1st 2014, the application arrived on the 9th of Sep, it was sent from outside Canada, yet I didn't receive anything or hear from them. How long does it take to get the first response? I am really concerned. Please advise. will they contact me via email or regular post?

It could be email, or it could be regular post.

Probably your first communication from CIC will be Sponsorship Approval - which currently seems to be taking around 48 days. So you should hear something by late October!

The sponsor will get the first communication from Cic. If you tracked your package thats the only confirmation you will get until SA, unless they want some more information.

Mine was received Sept 10, 2014. I have not heard anything from CIC either and do not expect to receive anything from them until late October. My husband (sponsor) will be the first to be notified. If you provided an email address the communication will be done by email. If not it will be done by regular mail.

This is the website showing the processing time. It was updated on Sept 24th, 2014. They are currently working on applications received July 31, 2014 and are showing a 55 day turn around time for SA.
