Hello,
I plan on going to Canada on a visiting visa. I do not have a surname in my passport, and I am aware that CIC/IRCC websites recommend leaving the given name field blank and putting the entire given name in the surname column. However, I would like to know if this would cause any problems when opening a bank account and other formalities where given name would probably be necessary. Should I split my name and provide a letter of explanation, or do I just follow the IRCC instructions? Please advice regarding this. Thank you!

1. Follow instructions, it usually works best.
