I applied for my spouse living in India, me living in Canada. We were in last process where spouse had to give biometrics. Now IRCC wants "proof of having registered the marriage with civil authorities". During application process i sent Urdu to English certified Nikah nama translation with government stamp to ircc. They want proof within 30 days. what types of proofs can i provide. We never got a marriage certificate made. My Canadian passport was in my old name so it was not possible to get it done then. Now obviously i cant get it made in 30 days by going to India during corona. Should i tell IRCC we didn't get a marriage certificate made? Will that automatically get the application rejected? Every other proof of our marriage being genuine seems to have been met. If application is rejected, do i apply again once i get the proof? Do i appeal if it gets rejected? Is it going to get rejected or can i give some reason, this is the last thing the application, everything else went smoothly. Is the marriage not considered legal without having it registered with Indian authorities? Can i get the application approved by giving some valid reason for not having proof of registration with civil authorities? Is my marriage not considered legal without getting it registered? Do i reapply as sponsoring conjugal partner if application is rejected?
