No Passport request yet! Spousal Sponsorship!

My brother in law had his interview in December 2017 and received pre arrival service letter later! He still hasn't gotten his passport request! The immigration is saying they are doing routine background checks. Please help. Thanks

good you have received pre-arrival service letter......you likely have passed eligibility assessment.......and its normal not to hear from IRCC until background check which takes awhile is completed.......when background check is completed, IRCC will have a final review and issue passport request.........how long to request passport varies and depends on the VO processing your application and on a case basis......relax......its a wait game.

Background checks can take a long time. He just needs to wait. He can request GCMS notes to see where his application is at.

We have done that now! They also said that, there are doing " routine background checks" . Thanks for the help tho
