No. of days living in Canada

Hello,

If somebody lives in Canada for 2 years in 4 years time according to current residence requirement, will his/her days count towards citizenship procedure? If no then what is the best practice in case of an emergency?

currently it's 3 years out LAST 4 years. has to be a minimum of 2 years post PR status. that clause will be changed soon.
