Hello,

Went to check current processing times for specific Visa offices and apparently it no longer lists the offices. It just gives a general 18 months for OUTLAND and 26 months for INLAND.

My partner is in Sao Paulo and it used to be 5 months to approval for an outland application from that office, but now there's no way to know the current processing times. Does it still make sense to apply from outside instead of from Canada?

That means you will need to wait 18 months. it was not fair that some people have processing time of 6 months like Tel Avive, when others Like Aman had more than 36 months.

This is not known if it is actually the case so I would not spread it as fact.

I don't know where you get your information but that's highly unlikely to be the case here. Every VO is different for a reason, some countries have very low numbers of immigrants, some very high. Not a lot of Brasilians want to immigrate to a cold country. However in India you have the opposite problem.

Don't worry about CIC's listed processing times, go by what you see in spreadsheets like in my signature. Until more people are processed and we know for sure, there's no reason to think anything has actually changed.

Good to know i got scared for a moment since mine was supposed to be max 15 months and now jumping to 18 seemed horrible!

I wouldn't hold my breath; the process of approving additional funding, hiring & training new officers, and then working through the backlog of applications will take years, if at all.

Regarding the new timeline; like has been mentioned a hundred times already on this forum, it's simply for clarity as it could have been perceived as difficult to understand total processing time previously. It most likely will change nothing.

Thanks for this clarification, and the spreadsheet hint. Very helpful!
