Im a dependent on my husband's application ii was employed at the time for 7yrs, however i got redundant last year. My question is will this affect our application being that im not the principal applicant. The VO is still doing background checks and in the event they call my previous employer and the realise im not working there anymore will this reduce our points.

Although the situation is not that alarming since you are dependent but you should inform your VO regarding your status.

As you are not the PA, and work points are awarded only to PA. Spouse education and Canadaian education/work are only used for your PA as adaptability points. If your work is outside Canada, then your husband hadn't claim points for that to start with.

So don't worry. Your husband might right to your VO that you are not anymore employed, however this shouldn't be an issue for your points calculation.

There is absolutely nothing to worry. However do send an email or letter to your VO in this regard, so that they cannot say at a later stage that you had provided false information. All the best

It wouldnt be false information as i submitted proof of employment letter at the time of submitting documents.
