Hello,
My wife landed from India back in May 2022. In July we received a letter from IRCC stating that she needs to resend photos for her PR card (first one) as they did not meet the requirements. We resent new photos in July and found through tracking that they were received. Since then we have not received any further information on the status of the PR card. This is a rotten situation because we have no idea what is going on. We called IRCC a couple of months ago and they said that when we resend new photos they sometimes sit in the mail room and then are brought out. At the time they were working on the photos sent in May, but now when we try calling IRCC and try talking to an agent they just seem to be very busy and can't be transferred to an operator. We just want to know if others are in the same situation as we don't want to reapply for a new PR card especially when it might be in process right now.

Thanks in advance

Try your MP for assistance/info.

Note, you haven't mentioned any reasons why not having the PR card is an issue - it may help to do so (not with us but with MP's office).

Yes thanks for that, the main reason for the PR card is for the ease of travelling. Without it she would need to apply for a temporary PR or come through the US via a commercial vehicle. It's just the hassle of travelling without one and it is very frustrating when you do not know which stage the process is in? We do not want to apply for a new card if the current card is in process with the new photos and might be mailed out any time now.

again, you don't have to explain it to me, it is to discuss with MP's office and justify a little bit of extra work on their/IRCC's part.

Raise a web enquiry, you will get reply and continuously check your email promotions folder too and the mail box also as sometimes you get the card or communication by post also.

Great news, my wife just received her PR card yesterday in the mail! Just for others to know the timeline:

1. Resent new PR photos as requested back in July, 2022
2. Received by IRCC late July, 2022
3. We received the new PR card November 30th - so approximately took just over 4 months

Thanks to all that helped here.
