Hi Everyone,

Long story shot, I have been working for my new employer for over a month, but they do not want to give me a letter of employment. What are my other options to verify I am employed?? This is the last thing I am missing for the application and really want to send it in!

Thanks

Since the employment letter is requested, I'd talk to your employer again and negotiate something. Why won't your employer write a simple letter? Perhaps you could draft one yourself and ask your supervisor to sign it?

If you don't include a an original employment letter, be sure to write a detailed explanation as to why your employer was unwilling to provide one. Like others said, provide additional proof of employment. My employer provided a letter, but due to company policy they would not provide my salary, so I include my statement of earnings for the past two years along with pay stubs for my current contract period (8 in total). For your situation, you'll only have one pay stub, so make sure to write a quality explanation, but I'd still try to get the letter before sending the application.

Okay, so now my work has finally given me an employment contract. Should I send it into CIC? If so, how?

I would. Wait until you have been approved as the sponsor, then send the updated info to the visa office responsible for processing the applicant's application.

Yes but if they are approved as a sponsor I would think that there would no longer be need to send it

You can try but it will be pretty hard to get your employment contract to meet up with your app since your app won't be opened for a couple of months.

The 1st stage is sponsorship approval! If you got approved then employment letter is of no future value! The employment letter is important if you are sponsoring dependents. If not then employment letter would be a good supporting document.
On the bright side, pay stubs are good proof of your employment.
here is my answer to updating CIC stage 1

I would have said "send the new info or update them" however from reading here someone did that and they stupidly returned their update letter. I believe she also had UCI number from the past.
That is a very stupid thing because this stage was supposed to be days. It made sense when they return anything however now that the process is long. They should know people status and info change.
The only solution for them is to re-think of their whole system and process.
Here is my suggestion if you can link it to your application (for example using receipt #) and it is easy to send them the info then do it also add a note saying something like "since the process takes long time I am attaching an update that I think very important to my application"
if it is returned then be it if not then good

I dont think I am not going to be approved as a sponsor. I submitted a pay stub as my proof of employment along with a letter of explanation. I also said in the event that this was not enough as proof of employment I would be happy to ask my employer again for a employment letter. When the open the file can I see over e-cas?

Thanks for all your info. There are no dependents in our case, only submitting the application for my common-law partner.

Thanks, I am trying not too! We put together the best application we could, hopefully CIC feels that way too. :)
