I got reply from CIC today for the Case Specific Inquiry. It says "additional documents requested on June 25, 2014. On July 24 2014, the case is under background verification process."

However i haven't received any emails regarding additional documents request. On the same day as background verification starts, my online ecas shows in process. Do you have any idea of what involves in background verification? Is this security check?

Hi there... How long it takes to get response from them once you applied for case specific inquiry through above discussed link... Is that applying through link is same as sending an email to them asking for updates ? I sent email asking for updates no response from 9 days.. Shall I apply through that link ?

It took one week to get response from CIC for me. I used to send emails twice with no reply. This is the reply from Case Specific Inquiry submission, which is the link from previous post.
