No Birth certificate for spouse being sponsered

Hi Guys,

I have my wife a Canadian PR soponser me for PR. I do not have a birth certificate. I might have lost or never had one from the country of my birth (India).
My question\doubts is :

1. do I need to submit my birth certificate proof when being sponsored by the spouse?
2. If yes, then can there be an alternative to this document?

Do you have your passport ?. Either you can use that or you can visit any passport center to apply for birth certificate
