No AOR yet

We sent in late July for inland spousal and still don't have AOR. Is anyone familiar with this situation?

I waited for 10 months, unfortunately they don't deal with applications on a first come first serve basis. You should try calling them to make sure they have received your application and get a temporary application number.

We did try calling but found the automated system requires a case number that I guess we won't get until we hear back from IRCC. Do you know if there is a way to talk to someone without a case number?

They've changed the options recently so I don't remember which numbers you need to press. You don't need the case number, you'll eventually get to the option of being able to speak to someone at which point you'll likely be told to call back later because they are too busy! It is possible though.
