As it turns out, talk is cheap. Remember all of the celebrities that said they were going to leave the US if Trump got elected? Can't think of a single one that actually did it.

Also, just like the US, Canada really isn't interested in taking people without existing citizenship (or a relation to someone with PR/citizenship in Canada) unless you have something to bring to the table, like a skilled job, and even then it's time + effort + money to actually get in).

Someone from the South of the border tweets, "let us move north!"
Someone from the north tweets "Come on in", the Americans ignore the tweet! but every other twitter dude from North, East,West, and South thinks it as an open invitation!

This was obvious to anyone who is aware of the immigration process and past history.

Canada shares world's longest undefended border with the US. So everything happens there has a ripple effect here in Canada!

Just browsed through the "Discover Canada" booklet, they found it important enough mention two mass immigration waves from the US:
  • The loyalist wave
  • The underground railroad wave

This article was discussed when it came out a few months ago. Been there - done that.

stating the obvious or asking about the obvious as if it's something new ... that has become the social norm for some people on this forum LOL

Relatively few Americans qualify to immigrate to Canada, though.most believe they can move here as easily as moving to another [American] state. It doesn't occur to them that, as Americans, they would be subject to Canada's immigration controls.

Now many are acting on their beliefs and IRCC is frantically tweeting!

Canadians love to bash US and Americans, Americans however don't give a damn about Canada and without US, Canadians would starve to death. Most of the food come from US. That was another Canadian's dream and hallucination that didn't come true.

What you said is unfortunately true, American bashing has become very cool! I worked in American for some time, it is a very nice country live...They are our best friends and allies!
