NIAGARA COLLEGE 8 MONTHS COURSE IN BUSINESS AND LAST SEMESTER OF GENERAL ARTS AND SCIENCE GIVE US A 3 YEARS PGWP IS THIS TRUE CAN ANY ONE EXPLAIN ME IN DETAILS.

U will be given 3 years of pgwp only if u study for 2 or more years, and the college must be eligible for work permit granting

PGW depends on credit hours you have earned,so for 8 months diploma+last semester of another degree u may get upto 1.5 years of visa but chances are u will get 8 months visa.

we can extend your visa but the prob is does this thing work 8months + last sem is any one who did and got the 3 years pgwp if is then they can explain us in details but credits an all

yeah its true !!!! But as far as I know it is credit transfer system available for students with Indian degree ....... so on basis of credit transfer you can cover this general arts & science course only is 4 months instead of 2 year .... so total duration of study will be 8 months and 2 years n you will eligible for 3 years PGWP !!!!!!!!

can u tell me which degree in India gets credits for general arts and science have i m b.com degree from Mumbai university and what are the chances of getting 3 years pgwp has some times u get 8 months so on what basis does u get pgwp of 3 years.

I have also heard of this but officially there is no existence of such law. So, there is risk in doing this course...may you will get 3 yr WP or may you will get 1 Yr. WP

So, better to be on safe side and don't try this without any official release.

This argument is 100% correct. I mean 3 years PGWP is certain. The GAS results in 2 years program through credit transfer. If you have done a post graduate program in Canada, you can transfer to any of the colleges that offer GAS to earn a two year diploma program. Its just like you transfer to complete a diploma program (GAS). Many colleges offer that and I have never seen any person that earned less than 3 years. The only problem with GAS is that there is nothing to learn in terms of knowledge. But if you are only interested in 3 years PGWP, then go for it. At the end of the program which last for 4 months and not even 6 months, the college will issue you a certificate that shows you have met the requirements of the two years program. When you are applying for PGWP, you need to include the transcript of your PG which you previously earned. Hope you are cleared.

I just heard that many people are getting just a year or 1.5years work permit. They say its a risk in it and everything depends on luck.

What my doubt is, when the VO sees our application that this guy landed in Jan'14, and in jan'15 he says that he has done 2 degrees ...completed a year and a 2 year degree in ONE year......wont that be dubious...

Even some of the colleges in Canada are offering Global Hospitality Management after you complete your Global Business or International Business Certificate course to get you 2 years study credentials that will most probably result in 2 or 3 year Post Graduate Work permit as per defined policy by CIC. I guess that would be much viable option then going for General Art & Science Course in terms of future prospects but also one need to understand, if he or she falls in Hospitality Industry or interested to get into Hospitality industry. This is something I have heard from my friends and some consultants too, it's not something I've experienced yet. But if it's correct, I guess people interested in Global Business may choose to go for this option as Hospitality Industry no doubt will have better options for work after studies. I believe it works like Study-Job-Study ( you study for 1 year program> Work for 6 months> Study) and then you get documents says you have completed 2 year of studies and I guess these program are designed in a way that you study and work all together for two years and you'll have better options thereafter.
