My husband just received his certificate of citizenship. (He received it through his father)

I have a pending permanent residency renewal application (based on time spent in Canada)

We currently live in the USA with children under 18.
What are our next steps to be able to make us all Canadian?

1. Should I resubmit an application based on my husband’s status?
2. How can I go about making my children and myself eventually Canadian?

Thank you in advance.

Since you already have PR status, you need to fulfill the residency obligation to be eligible for citizenship, which is 1095 days in Canada within a rolling period of 5 years; your status does not depend on your husband's status.

Since your husband was born after 1977, any children he had before April 17, 2009 would be considered citizens by descent through him as well. If your children were born after that date, he can apply to sponsor them for PR and then can apply for their citizenship after they have landed in Canada. In order to sponsor them, he needs to prove his intention to move to Canada.
