By July there were more than 8700 people with between 440 and 449 points. 4 months later there are probably 1000 people with each score between 440-449. Unless they up draw sizes to 2000 or 3000 they will not be able to dip below 450. Remember that several hundred people with 450 or more points are added every month.
Realistically speaking it will take a long time to drop.

This is not a judgement of a persons skills or personal worth, everybody has a great deal to offer Canada-they are below replacement population growth. It's just a numbers game. Perhaps once the backlog clears and the Cec applicants who lost out because of the cap in 2014 are dealt with the draws might get a lot bigger. Good luck, let's hope chic work fast to clear the way to increase the draw sizes.

Exactly. This does not say how many people are waiting with scores between 440-449 as you said, only the larger statistics in fifty point increments. But perhaps CIC will release these details in an end of year report. I'm dying to know how many there are above 440 points to have some kind of idea what our chances are!

LiamE, sd2005 is right, you MADE A MISTAKE.
Please update your post and correct your typo. If you leave it like that, then people will get very confused.

I just wasted 5 minutes checking this, and the figure you are quoting is for 400-449, NOT 440-449.

See below extract from: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/reports/ee-midyear-2015.asp
450 - 499......1,786
400 - 449......8,770
350 - 399......14,597
300 - 349......12,517
250 - 299......2,247
As you can see from the above, you made a typo, please correct it so you don't confuse other users or maybe even allow someone to make a wrong decision based on the incorrect info you gave. Everyone makes mistakes, but correct them as soon as you can.

Never say never. But thats highly unlikely due to the current trend. Whoever said this must the most optimistic person in the whole wide world. I would love to be disproved as this will make some many people smile. Keep the hopes high but be realistic. This is a competetive race and best chance is to get your scores rolling.

What is your score?

I only have 396 points. Would I have any chances? :'( :'(

Perhaps your chances will be brighter with a PNP

I never really looked into PNP, so don't know much about it, I thought you still need a job offer right? So might as well get that with EE and get the 600 bonus? I'm clearly overlooking something here. I think I did remember someone said some provinces don't need a job offer.

score will drop to 350 on friday night after you sleep and before you wake up on saturday morning :d :p

No. Not all provinces require a job offer.

Alberta and BC require job offer.

Ontario, SINP, NS and PEI do NOT require a job offer. They have their own selection criteria though. Check their websites to learn about these PNPs.

Please note that to be eligible to receive a PT notification from Ontario, you must have a CRS > 400.

Hi, everyone,

I heard from some people saying that the next draw for express entry is going down to 350 points. Is that going to happen??? :o
Could anyone give me any ideas??? :'( Please!!! :) :)
there are even no chances of it dropping below 480 until 2015 ends...as they are hardly reducing it by 4 points in every draw...
it will be miracle...if happens....really everyone will have a heart attack...lol,...... :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

Please note "they" are not reducing anything. The only thing they control/reduce/increase is the number of applicants they let through. The lowest CRS score is then a product of the number of people they let through, so that can fluctuate wildly or not at all, the drop of 4 is not something they decided, thats a by-product. Then again, who knows, maybe they are doing it, but then why drop it by 4. Seems unlikely its done on purpose.

"They" controls the size of draw and interval between draws, which is deciding factors of cutoff points of draw. Assuming "they" also know the distribution of points all applicants got at any given time.

I thought that's what I said? Are you correcting me or just agreeing with me.

I think they are keeping number of candidates same 1500+ few change but they vary the draw dates to make sure they dont go below 450+ or- a few. so two numbers are fixed(more or less) 1500 and 450.

They wanted to control the points, but they can't actually say and do that publicly. Hence, they set a "floor" of 450 points by controlling the intervals and size of draw.

So, yes, they control the rate of number of applicants, but that is done so to reach their true goal of controlling the points and ensure nobody below 450 gets ITA. They don't draw 1500 apps between 1-3 weeks for no reason.
