Will be arriving in Regina tomorrow evening and tried to make contact with people and leasing companies about housing. Needless to say, all companies and most people posting private ads, require past references, proof of income/employment, credit checks etc and of course we have none. We do have enough funds to cover a lease, even a 12 month one but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Have sent messages to some people explaining the situation and haven't even received one response.

Have booked 9 nights on a hotel, so hope we'll get lucky until then but any advice on how to proceed on this matter?

Hi,

Wont 9 nights be too much - no worries of course if you can afford for it easily. I guess you can book for some 3 days in a hotel and try searching an accommodation once you are there. Once you are there, you can go and see the flats and meet the owners. This is just a suggestion. anyhow have a safe 'landing' and marvelous stay in Canada

Thank you Raina, both for the advice and your wishes! Will also check the links later.

Yes, could afford the 9 nights, fortunately funds are not an issue and shouldn't be anyway if we manage to find a job in the next few months, just thought we'd be on the safe side :D

Will go meet owners in person, also hope this will work better.
