I am not sure exactly where I am suppose to post but ill try here.

I am a Canadian citizen, I am looking for some help in regards to my son. He got engaged this past sept to his girlfriend when he went to visit her in texas. She came here in November her ticket was booked for 6 months however at the border they limited her stay to 3 months. Just before she returned home she discovered she was pregnant. We don't know where to go from here? she is wanting to move here and we know that it takes a great amount of time and money. They want to be married before the baby comes and she wants to have the baby here. Can anyone advise us on the best route to take? She has medical insurance she thatnkfully she is covered to have the baby here.

Please we are desperate for some help.

Your son will have to wait until after the baby is born to sponsor her for permanent residency. Applying for PR involves completing a medical which includes an x-ray. She can't have the x-ray while pregnant (it can harm the baby). When he applies to sponsor her, outland will be the best / fastest option.

I would double check that her insurance policy will cover the cost of the pregnancy. Many policies don't cover these costs. Those that include them often only cover emergencies related to pregnancy. She should definitely verify what will and won't be covered.

Thank you for reply :) We were thinking she could come here temporarily and they could get married? I dont know we are looking for a way for her to be here for the remainder of her pregnancy and have the baby here. Yes her insurance covers her pregnancy here she seen the doctor here a couple times before going back to the US.

wait for her to deliver the baby and then file an app to sponsor her and the child. i don't really think there's any way for her to stay in canada throughout her pregnancy unless they allow her to extend her visit.

So there is no way for her to deliver the baby here in Canada?? :(

You could always apply for an extension for her visitor visa.

However, if she was to give birth in Canada, she would need to pay for everything out of her own pocket. No health insurance would cover her for the pregnancy unless she had it before she found out she was pregnant.

yes she had insurance before the pregnancy. She is in the US now and we are trying to figure out a way for her to have the baby here...they plan to get married when she gets here could my son sponsor her then?

exactly what kind of medical coverage does she have? I'm not aware of any coverage in the US that would cover the costs of giving birth abroad...
