Hello everyone,

I would like a little advice please on what the new rules mean for my application.

I applied as a skilled worker in Oct 2008, but my NOC is not in the list of the 38 from the new rules so I expect my application will be invalid and I will get a refund. In that case what would be the best course of action? Should I look for an offer of employment?

Looking forward to your helpful response,
- Best Regards,
Richard

If you job is not included on new list you will not be able to apply. You must have minimum one year experience in the newly listed occupation. Otherwise you will not apply. So compare your occupation first with the listed NOC.

Can't I try to get an AEO? Or is that not an advisable approach?

Of course you can try obtaining an AEO. It's pretty much a guaranteed visa. However, getting the job offer isn't easy (depending on your skills I would guess).
