Hi one of my friends said to apply for student visa you need to deposit $10000 in Canadian bank as maintenance funds. Is IT true. Please help me

You need to submit funds ($10000) to Scotia bank. This is called GIC. These are the living expenses. Which will be given back to you when you arrive Canada in installments i.e $2000 after every two months.

This is not a rule it is just a requirement for the students applying under SPP in India or China only.
