New rule of Spousal Open Work Permit in Canada

Hi,
There was a change in Spousal Open Work Permit policy in Canada last Jan, 2024,

Changes to Spousal Open Work Permit eligibility: Only spouses of international students enrolled in master’s, doctoral, and professional programs will be eligible for open work permits.

I have got a letter of introduction from the visa office for a spousal open work permit before the new rules came out.
I am arriving to Canada this coming August. Am I still safe to get the actual open work permit?

You are fine if you applied for your SOWP prior to January 22 and were approved.
