Hi guys,,
Yesterday ,I recieved a letter from CIC London asks me to send three documents in 45 days , IELTS, PCC, and a proof of settlement funds. now the problem is that the nearest IELTS exam I found is on 15/05 which means after the 45 days they gave me, what do you suggest me guys to do in this case. by the way, I've been living in UK for about 4 years now and work as a university lecturer and I published about 10 papers throughout the last 3 years and a book chapter, do you think that would be enough for them to assess my language? your advice will be highly appreciated.

You will need to do it now. It appears maybe you have insufficient points that is why your IO/VO is giving you another opportunity to make up your points. Lecturer or no lecturer if English is not your first language you are expected to take the test.

I will advise if you can look at other neighboring towns and countries who have earlier dates quickly booked there so that you can have some test result to submit before your 45days runs out. Should you not submit one, you then assessed based on the IO/VO emotions.

My 2cents.

thank you barsindoo,, Shall I take the General one or the Academic one as I found an academic test very soon.

You are really meant to take general but considering the date the is available I will go for academic if there is one close by. A word of caution though, it is more harder in the writing and reading part than the general one.

Take any which ever is closest but if you get a choice then take general

As u had already mentioned that u had published so many things and all, so i don't think you need to practice a lot just a little look and knowledge of pattern is needed.

BUT STILL "KNOWLEDGE IS NOTHING WITHOUT PRACTICE IN RIGHT DIRECTION"

You have to take GENERAL and you have to take it NOW so that you have your certificate at the Embassy in 45 days and it takes 2 weeks to get the certificate after the exam meaning you only have 3 weeks. Go to another town or another country, just don;t miss the date.

If you don't do this, you will be disqualified and blame yourself. All suggestions about academic test or taking at a later date are simply wrong and misleading.

Thank you very much for all. I'm gonna go to london tomorrow to book for an ielts exam, pray for me to find a close date one. I know there are 2 close exams 10 and 17 but you never know if they are still open for registration or not as I think the web sites don't have updated info. I have the Official IELTS practice Material 2009, I started training and warming up my self to do it. Kind regards for all.
