New Indian Passport - CGI Vancouver

Hey,

Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong thread. If wrong, then please direct me to the correct thread.

I am currently a student in Canada and have recently submitted my application to BLS for new Indian Passport with CGI Vancouver (13 August 2013), however it has been over 7 weeks now since I had submitted it and the tracking still shows it is processing at the consulate. I asked a few friends who had theirs done within 4 weeks or so. I wonder why mine is taking that long. Anyone else out here who's indian passport renewal took upto 2 months or more to get done.

Any help on this will be appreciated.

I need to get mine renewed/re-issued from vancouver as well. What is the procedure that u followed and how much is the fee?

the procedure is all given on blsindia-canada (not allowing me to post link..just google that and youll find the website)....i just followed the forms and checklist from there...
fee is around 76 bucks...

Thanks for the info.... There's this box that says SIGNATURE OF FATHER AND SIGNATURE OF MOTHER... do we have to get them signed as well??

Did you send all the fees? Not just the renewal fee but all the other little hidden charges?

I believe you should have submitted to BLS $86.40 + return courier fee (i think its 20$ if applying by mail).

It can be a very painful experience renewing a passport at CGI vancouver. Just make sure you are not missing anything when you apply or they will give you the run around.

Yeah i had submitted the entire fees and my entire file was complete...BLS checked the entire file and also took the fees...I dint pay return courier as I asked to get it picked it up from BLS Edmonton so then you do not have to pay courier fees...its now becoming eight weeks and all BLS says is that its under processing and they give nothing else...and there is no way to contact the consulate office...just hoping it gets done soon....

Just hang in there it should change anytime now. Mine took 7 weeks.

I had got my passport back on 11 October 2013. Had submitted to BLS on 13 August 2013. So took almost two months to get it. I am sure you will get it soon too.

Hi everyone,

Can anyone please update on the final result of this thread? I have submitted by original passport for police clearance check in the Edmonton , Alberta , Canada BLS Center. It has been 10 weeks (2.5 months) i haven't got back anything. All my friends got back both the things in 10 days. Contacting BLS doesn't help. Calling Vancouver Consulate doesn't help as no one picks up the call and they have a voicemail running. Please help.
