Hi All,

I have been working in US from last 2 yrs on H1B .I applied for Canada PR in Oct'08 through Consultant but didnt yet receive file no.

My Immigration consultant telling me that as per the new immigration laws currently they put files on "HOLD" and they are saying that Computer and Information technology Managers are elligible for skilled worker category.

Is it mean those who have applied as a "Developers" or "Programmer" for them chances of returning files are more ?

Please let me know on this and suggest what to do ?

You can check Alberta with this program:

And also here is more info on FSW:

very unfortunate....
I am really shocked that consultants are even not aware of the new law passed in Feb 2008 that CIC has short listed 38 categories. The same problem is with my friend who has applied in May 2008. But what I heard is that they have totally rejected cases if you don't fall in those categories and applied after Nov 2008. The applicants who have applied b/w Feb to Nov 2008 have to wait.

How would the consultants know what occupations were on the list before it was released 28/11/08? Most forums stated, don't apply until you know what occupations would be included.
