Would search through job postings and do research on industries based on your field of specialty. You also need to land in a province that has job available for engineers. I know it is often hard to break into the field in some of the large cities because there is a lot of competition. You have a masters so that will help. I am sure everyone will say Toronto but would consider other places as well. You also have to factor in licensing issues. Really helpful to see LinkedIn and work any contacts you may have before you arrive. Also if you can remain flexible before securing employment that is also helpful. Best of luck.

Look for jobs online on sites like linkedin or indeed etc. I used Linkedin to look for jobs and mapped out the prospects across Canada. You will get a better understanding of which cities offer employment in your field. If your planning to look for jobs after moving to Canada, this will give you a good idea where to land in Canada. At the same time, keep applying. I found my job on Linkedin before moving to Canada.
Everybody who is an architect needs to avoid Alberta. For one thing, the economy is loaded up with specialists with localexperience - mechanical, compound, oil, electrical - who have been laid off. Furthermore, the economy is loaded up with architects with neighborhood instruction who have recently moved on from school and can't look for some kind of employment
Sorry for being late in the room. But if you are chemical/process engineer then I would suggest not to look in Alberta. Tons of unemployed experienced engineer and graduate from universities. You can try your luck but I know around 30, 40+ graduates unemployed from 2016 and 2017. Try USA.

I am planning to land in Calgary this 2019. I have a BSc degree in Chemical Engg in the Philippines but WES evaluated it as a 3 year diploma. I also have 4 years work experience as a Technician and not as an Engineer.
I am planning to study in Alberta as an Engineer or maybe a different field since Ive been seein alot of problems finding a job for engineers in Alberta.
Im thinking of applying to ASET and be evaluated as a C. Tech. since my work experience is in that field. I am planning to part-time work as a technician since it would be better than a survival job. Is it worth it to apply to ASET? I have searched for jobs online and not see being a member as a requirement since technician is not a regulated work.
Any thoughts?
