I'm Afghan too, my husband's application was received on March 3rd and it says still in process!!
He doesn't need an interview.
And is in BGC since November 2017.
Do u think it will take longer than 12 months?

It depends no one can tell how long it will take but if you are march 2017 applicant then it shouldn’t take that long because now its 12 months for all the countries

no, i mean are they gonna start our background check too? how long it takes?

What I think is they are already checking it maybe and just before the DM they put it in we are processing and next day or two the applicant sees a DM.
However I may be wrong also since a few applicants BCG shows processing for a couple of months also and no DM..
Really can’t make out the pattern actually..

Yes they do it for everyone.
The information that we provide in the Schedule A form they just check it again and again to make sure the applicant or his family who may or may not accompany him are not inadmissible to Canada for any reason.
And just doing a little research I got to read some where that the CSIS - Canadian Secret Intelligence Service agents are everywhere and they do the Background check and give a detailed report to the IRCC and then it’s the IRCC who takes a decision....

so no updates today either! wow NDVO is really testing us! are we waiting till March now? damn every month, it's like oh one more month.. oh one more month... getting close to 10 months for some May applicants (I understand there are months before us who are waiting, but at least NDVO would start BCG on some applications from each month by 7-8 months before)..ridiculous just absolutely ridiculous

Doesn't matter if you are travelling first time or 100th time. you can check in two 23 kg luggage bags. 1 hand bag. One laptop bag. Laptop bag doesn't need to have laptop in it. That's all you can do. If you wanna carry more, check the extra check in luggage cost on airline's website.

Thnx, Applied on March 25th2017, AOR2 June5th 2017, Meds done & Received by CPC-Mississauga in May 2017(not sure about Date).

DM last week on Thursday .8thFeb2017.

April 5th applicant and they didn’t even started the background check. My friend applied same time and his wife landed last month. Don’t know how NDVO works.

2 luggage 23 kg and if u r travelling with infant than one more 23 kg luggage is allowed.
If u want to carry extra luggage u have to pay for it .
