Find your Local MP and visit him/her with your application number, and they will call CIC and enquire in front of you.

Absolutely well said this what I've been believing in for so long. Everything happens when its supposed to. We should wait for the right time. I too get impatient sometimes but my fairh in God keeps me grounded. Have faith in God. He does everything for a good reason. And never forget that God's mill does grind but sometimes slowly. Yes you should hear from them in few days.
You can also go to their office in Toronto, if you are here. Once the 30 days time line is over.

Do check if they have a office in Calgary somewhere close where your husband can physically go and visit them. Anyways you are waiting for their e-mail / mail meanwhile.

They are supposed to be based on the date they have received your file and during the verification stages, if your file is completed when it reaches the particular officer's desk (the one who's assigned to your case)
