My wife landed as immigrant yesterday. She was in Canada on TRV, so we went for flag-poling and it was simple and quick.

I wish all the best to the remaining 2016 applicants and hope you guys hear soon from NDVO.

Congrats to everyone receiving PPRs, DM & BG in process

Thank You everyone here for helping each other out here.

:) :)

Thank You,

We went to Coutts/Sweet grass border (Alberta-Montana). It's not a very busy border and moreover we were the only people there for landing, so didn't take long. landing process is quite similar to what we do at an airport. CBSA officer took our passports and COPR and validate them. Some general questions like any arrest or refused entry to Canada etc.etc. and that's it. CBSA officer handed back our passports with signed and validated COPR and we drove back to our home. It took around 30 mins in the whole process since we had to see USA CBP first and then back to CBSA on Canadian side. Officers were polite and helpful.

All the best to everyone doing landing soon!!

:) :)

Congratulations... Just a question. Did it require you to have an American visa, too?

Thank you!!

It's not required to have US visa for flag-poling. Applicants declare at US POE that they are doing landing in Canada, so CBP give applicants a document stating "refused admission into USA". Then applicants come back to Canada and give that document to CBSA along with passports and COPR. There's no negative effect of this refused entry into USA in future.

I have valid USA visa but my wife didn't and we went through flagpoling process. CBP didn't make any entry or refusal stamp on the passports.

Hope this gives an idea.
