I contacted my mp again .he said delhi office told them my file is under 17 months still.
I was in a shock. I have reachd 19 months. Dont know how delhi is calculating timings.
So i told my mp all this. And he has agreed that i have crossed processing time and is going to enquire again on my behalf. This is the 2nd mp i am going to. The first one doesnt want to do anythn .the first mp i contacted only did enquiry once and nothing after that.
So now i m tryinga nother mp.
Hope something positive comes.m almost on the verge of pulling my hair out now. Its annoying what they are doing with our lives.
Hey,

The 17 month processing time begins from the time the file reaches NDVO so in your case Sept 2014, you are coming up on 17 months - not sure when your file reached in September. You should definitely hear back on the interview really soon since you are a July 2014 applicant hang in there.

On the website it says otherwise tho. NDVO is making up this BS about 17months from when they get it.

"
Spouse or common-law partner living outside Canada

17 month(s) ?

Includes assessment of sponsor: 60 days

View your application status online
"

this is from their site.. clearly states including 2months of sponsorship application

I got this from the cic website, so I don't know understand why processing would start at NDVO office. its so confusing.

"How are processing times calculated?

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) calculates processing times from the day CIC receives an application to the day it makes a decision on the application.

When estimating how long you will wait to receive a temporary visa, you must also take into account up to 10 days of transit or delivery time on top of CIC’s processing time. The time your application will
spend travelling to and from CIC will vary depending on where you live."

Not just interview letters. I think they have shelved (and forgotten about) 2014 files entirely.

Our paper file hasn't been touched since September, when it was moved to the "Registry", which if I understand, just means "storage"?

My wife's medical status was updated to "Passed" a day after the results were submitted. The user ID says "Siebel Administration", which I guess means it was updated by CIC staff in Canada.

I am open to contacting the media, but I have just written a very long e-mail to both Justin Trudeau and John McCallum. I realize that I'm desperately grasping at straws, but I am going to see if I can get in contact with someone, anyone, in John McCallum's office. Even if its the janitor, I don't care. I just need someone to read my letter and put it in front of John McCallum. If he's willing to spare an hour of his time, I will personally pay money out of my own pocket to fly to Ottawa and meet him.

If I don't get any sort of response from them, then I'll think of approaching someone in the media. But as of right now, my wife's application is just crossing the processing time threshold, with no interview required, or any sort of negative connotation about anything in the file. I'm going to give them one final chance to respond to me...after that, it's going to CTV, CBC, or whoever will listen.

My hope (read: prayer!) is that this plan works, and NDVO gets an earful from the Minister, or with any luck, the Prime Minister of Canada himself!

Completely get that but keep in mind this overall - all visa office timeline of 17 months including SA just got updated about 2-3 months back so I highly doubt it this will apply to past applicant of NDVO - before to this it was 17 months plus 2 monthish for SA. If it was me I would take from the time the file reaches NDVO since thats how its always been

Yeah, but still...for all intents and purposes, any file that has been straightforward gets pushed through in less than 17 months, even if you start the clock when Mississauga receives the file. If any 2014 files with no interview requirements and nothing negative coming up in background checks have still not been processed, something is wrong.

Besides, the policy now includes SA, so we can use it to our advantage. Practically, yes, you are correct. But its something we can use to help some delayed files get expedited.

Complete agree when there is nothing to flag and everything is approved they should just issue to the visa

I am not sure if you saw my message on our case or if we have spoken on it earlier. So we had our re-meds on Sept 29, 2014 andwe kept ordering the notes and in the notes in Jan we found out that everything was approved in Oct 2014 1 week after the re-meds and it was ready for issue but they were just sitting on it until we contacted the MP on Jan 2015 and the very next day we got the PPR

Wish we were so lucky. I think you've read the story about our file before, but we had a 3 month delay because the re-meds email was never sent in September when the notes said it was.

Its been two months since the meds were received by CIC, and updated, but still nothing.

I really think that our file has been completely forgotten about. Our MP hasn't been much help...hence why I've turned to McCallum and Trudeau.
