Hi Guys, just wanted to share something I saw on 2013 forum. A mid-Sept applicant got a call from NDVO asking what her husband do, where they met etc. She said it was like a mini interview. This is something new that I have seen. I wonder if NDVO has started to take mini interviews on the phone? Wonder if this will become common practice to speed up applications. God only knows.....

if you check 2013 forum from the beginning there were few cases where they had called for mini interview....they stopped it for a while (or members did not report being called for mini interviews) but mini interviews have been going on in the past

Hey All,

We submitted our application in Dec'13.. haven't got any PPR till date.. this process seems to be way too long..

Is it worth taking risk to apply for TRV while PR still in process..Im of two minds.. :

Let it be , it might take another 2-3 months. I am 30dec2013 applicant .Still waiting for PPR , TRV might complicate things .i suggest you to hold on for sometime .PPR will be coming shortly

Still waiting for some update from cic ...filed it on 20th May 2014....my husband delayed the application and now we are bearing the brunt after inland fiasco where in error I exited the country ...wish I had not left canada...wish someone from cic had informed me that you cant leave country. why there are buffoons sitting in call centre with double attitude in NDVO ! They think they own the world...I am not dying to go to canada ...but i want to be with my husband just like everyone who wants to be with their families...

2) when NDVO sends the passport do they use courier service or normal post

2.1 My village is in very remote area and cannot trust india post, can i tell them not to send the passport and request for pickup

2.2 Can i give them address of my choice where they can send back the passport, in this case i will provide them a relative's address in delhi

1) I have seen some December 2013 applicants in 2013 forum who got passport requests in Jan 2014. Sometimes in December 2013, NDVO changed their rules and have not asked for passports. I think they will ask for passports towards the end of the process. Depending on when in December you applied, I think it is likely that your application was after they changed the rules and hence why you have not received the passport request.

2.1) They send passport via registered post I believe, not courier. I don't think you can request to pick up, only because I am thinking how would you make this request. They don't respond to emails, don't answer queries on phone. So unless you get an interview and in that you can try to request if you can pick up passport instead of mail.

2.2) They will only post to your mailing address. If you want them to post elsewhere, you should change your mailing address through ecas.

Thanks for clarifying. I just hope they keep interviews to minimum and speed up the application. Go NDVO Go....
