But I need urgent help as how to send my passport to NDVO?
Some say I can also do registered mail.
Don't know bout VFS? How to do wid VFS?
I stay in Jalandhar and dre is VFS centre..
But what now ? Shall I have to go to dem personally?
Plz help

The Privacy Act of Canada prevents government departments from releasing personal information to unauthorized individuals. Currently, there is no authorization from the applicant to release information to you.

If you wish to receive information about a case, the applicant must provide this office with a signed authorization form:

Dear Guribeni!!

All Email and case specific enquiry has to have the consent form of the applicant(sponsored person).

Hence without it, they would just reply:"we cannot provide any info to anyone else".

hence try again with a signed concent form, you have to attach it to every email or case specific enquiry you make.

Q1. Is it true that sponsors are required to be living in Canada throughout the process of sponsorship?
We were not told this by anyone when we applied, even tho i had been living with my spouse in India for 2+ years by that time.
We were just told to write a letter explaining our plan to move to Canada once he receives his PR, which we did.

But now when I did the MP enquiry, the secretary said, "there is a likelihood that your file will face rejection if you are living outside Canada."


Q2. What does the below mean? That they have not reviewed at our file yet? (Our ecas status shows AR)
Its a Jan file and I was worried we will be flagged for interview so is that not the case?
If the MP enquiry didn't get any info, will the Atip notes have any info or will it be also be blank as the file just hasn't been reviewed yet? Meaning there might still be a chance that it will jump straight to DM?

Or should they be following up with NDVO instead of CIC in Canada?

Reply about MP enquiry, "we have been told that there are no new updates regarding your file, and to follow up with our office in three months to see if there is any movement regarding your file."


Q3. What date does the 3 months count from?
From 3 months prior to the date you submit your application OR 3 months prior to the date they request your passport for visa stamping?
My husband works in Nigeria and West Africa regularly.
He was working there for 1.5 years prior to our filing the application in Jan 2014. He didn't work there between Dec 2013 till Oct 2014 but he JUST went there few days ago and now this announcement

But WHO did declare Nigeria "free of ebola" on 20th Oct and he travelled few days after that, so is it ok for CIC?

All the worst things seem to be happening with our application....dunno who to contact, no one seems to have correct info.

These Instructions will come into force on October 31, 2014 and apply to pending applications (applications received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada [CIC] before the coming into force of the Instructions, and in respect of which a final decision has not been made) and new applications received by CIC offices on or after October 31, 2014.

As you are helping us out with maintaining the spread sheet, I noticed that the column that shows the average days for AR to IP, or IP to DM, etc for some of the months is inaccurate, especially for march and april. It would be nice if you could please update it.
