NEW DELHI - 2014 APPLICANTS

Hi guys..

I applied for PR in march from India. Then came over to canada in April on student visa.

I got my DM and PPR on Sept 30. . Since i was already in Canada , I sent the passport to Ottawa, Canada on Oct 6th.
Any idea long is it gonna take for them to send back my passport ?

April applicants received ppr and IP and DM and my status is still AR.

Really frustrated.

I was initially planning on writing a book about CIC processing trend and time lines, even before I could buy a nice book to start writing my R&A, the whole concept has gone out of the window.

Which means, nobody really knows, I am a March applicant myself stuck in "IP" for over a month now.

There are only 3 possibilities (which could just be as wrong as me trying to write a book in the first place), but the best guess anybody could make at this point of time:

1. The security/background checks are done in a lot and somehow march applicants are behind or complexity to the file itself (a lot of movement in and around India, eg: born in UP, raised in MP, married in HP)
2. The case worker that picked up the applications is on vacation or busy with interviews (I've seen the trend where a lot of case workers book bulk dates to interview people, the day they interview people that is pretty much all they do).
3. Worst outcome of all - flagged down for an interview, which won't happen anytime soon, not in 2014 at least, 2013 interview applicants just started getting their interview slots.

Order AITP notes, at least you'll know if you've been flagged down for an interview. This will at least give you some sense of the timeline you can expect.

Purely my opinion ...as i am one of the march applicants and still waiting..

Less than or approx 50% of the applicants have got IP for March. i would wait this week to hear back from NDVO or atleast till another 5-7 people get IP before starting to get worried.

there is a simple explanation for the delay, "file allocation for various case workers". some are quick - some are a bit drag....hence few of us got delayed...

Main thing they check is file completeness, marraige genuinity and medical. Once case clears this phase it goes through to IP. @ IP stage, background and criminality checks are completed to get to DM.

if you are compelled to do something - you have 3 choices - MP enquiry(usually generic answer " file waiting for intial review"), Case specefic equiry - usually NDVO doesnt reply(but some have got replies), GCMS Notes ( which takes 30 days to get). i have heard from various people GCMS notes helps and sometimes MPs do get some answers.
