We have cancelled the inland application on 4th March 2014 and CIC says until thats processed you cant file another application. But Immigration agents say yes u can...just mention in cover letter for outland application that the inland application is in cancellation process.
So we are confused..cz no one seems to have correct answers. CIC says upto 16 weeks cancellation may take process. So if i calculate that its almost june we are talking abt.

CIC may be true that you need to wait until its over in June and start the outland application then. You should ask your MP about that too if you want to make sure of it.

I applied Standard/Normal! They got my app on 19th, initimated me by email(so nice of them!) but not sure if they will also intimate when they send PCC out.....just wondering if they would....it would help. will they?

Yes they do send email. It is alwyz delivered before time don't worry on this part. They handle request in very professional and elegant manner.
You can anytime and any number of time ask about update about your application, they will alwz answer you back in very polite manner.

I guess no choice... bad timing for everything...but may be God has different way of telling us what is right ..and we perceive that as wrong.
Guess I will be back after I get some update on my case from CIC. please pray for me.

Hi Friends,

I am PR holder in canada, i m married and my wife is pregnant...and she cannot be able to do her full medicals ( except the x-ray,everything is done). I am confused about 2 things.

1. Shall i apply for my wife PR now as she is pregnant and do the apply the additional family when she delivers for my child.
or
2. shall i wait for a time and do both the wife and child together, after she delivers?

please help me out of this suituation.

I am new to this forum...I have recently obtained Canadian PR and would be moving to Canada in short time.
Can anyone help me the procedure/link to sponsor my Sister and her children from India after landing in Canada?

You can only sponsor other ralatives apart from spouse under special catagory when you can prove you have no one to sponsor but in your case it is not possible. Only option i see is if you are landing is some province where there are PNP under family class is allowed. All the best

Your immigration agent is correct as you can still file outland application while your inland application in under cancellation process beacuse even tough you file for the outland application as soon as the VO checks your case he would know that one of your application is under cancellation process. So he will keep the case on hold till the cancellation process is done and then he would open your new application.

Hi Guys,

I need you inputs on below query. My passport is about to expire so we are submitting it for renewal so my application was sent with my parents family name but after renewal we are thinking to change it my spouse family name. So will this create trouble??

i would suggest not the change the name but if you have to change it as per the tradition as few have, then you can do it and update the same to CHC/CIC where ever your application is. Anyways this will delay is process.

Hello Everyone,

I know that the visitor visa application get rejected 99% because we have already applied for PR. However, what about if you good reason to apply for visitor visa?

I have applied for my wife in January 2014 but she has to write her pharmacy exam here in Canada in early July. I know she won't make it here by July, 2014.

Is possible to apply for visitor visa with all supporting document. I have to pay around $500 to have her write exam in July. Any thought anyone?

You can write a clean and clear explanation letter explaining how imp is this exam for her and for career. This is only way that can make her visit visa possible.

Hello everyone,

My husband is a Canadian citizen and my PR application has been submitted by him on march 3rd, 2014. Meanwhile , I am planning to apply with for student visa.

Should I mention about my PR application , while applying for the student visa. If yes , where exactly ? No where in the application form they ask for it. There is something called SOE (Statement of explanation) where I need to specify why I chose Canada. Should I mention my husband being there as one reason ? or should I hide that fact ?

Yes you should inform them about your pr or else you will misrepresenting and can be booked under misrepresentation which lead to ban on you to file pr again. You can provide this info in the generic form.

You should definatly update the regional VO about the change of status, submit your passport, spouse passport, medicals and PCC and also you should update the immigration officer and POE. If you miss either of them, your spouse will not be considered as a family member and will be banned from filling family case visa under sec 117(9)(d).

FYI, I have been in the same situation and i have updated CHC, CIC and Also POE. And sponsored her. It took 8 months to get sponsorship approval.

I think we better wait for cancellation to get over,...cz if i do medical upfront then by the time he opens it and case gets transferred it will get more older.
I guess PCC would be done again too.

you got your pr after your weeding ? if so this is not my case i m pr holder since 5 years.
